DUBLIN – The District 8-3A third seed Early Longhorns wrapped up regular season action with a 61-48 road triumph over the Dublin Lions Tuesday night. 

The Longhorns (17-12, 9-5) led 21-13 after one quarter, 33-24 at halftime, and 46-38 through three periods.

Early received 22 points from Colton Allen, 13 points from John Hill, 10 points from Kaleb Hoffman, six from Jeremy Brown, four from Jaxyn Price, and two points apiece from Rohyn Price and Kaleb Ozuna

The Longhorns will open the playoffs next week against the winner of Holliday-Vernon, who meet in a seeding playoff game Friday night.

Winters 50, Bangs Dragons 32

WINTERS – The 2022-23 basketball campaign concluded for the Bangs Dragons Tuesday night with their 50-32 loss at District 8-2A rival Winters.

The Dragons (2-14, 0-10) trailed Winters 11-4 after one quarter, 17-16 at halftime, and 34-22 heading into the fourth period.

Guy Funk led the Dragons with 19 points trailed by Tyson Woods with six, Hunter Newton with three, and Nate Stoffer and Zack Ferguson with two points apiece.

GIRLS BI-DISTRICT PLAYOFF RESULTS

Highland 57, May Lady Tigers 22

WINTERS – The District 13-A third seed May Lady Tigers dropped their Region II-A bi-district basketball playoff game to District 14 runner-up Highland, 57-22, Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers (19-14) trailed 16-2 after one quarter, 28-13 at halftime, 47-19 through three periods.

Mya Musick and Estrella Bustamante led May with six points apiece.
