February Sales Taxes Up in Brownwood & Bangs, Slightly Down in Early

The February sales tax allocations were up in both Brownwood and Bangs, but down (slightly) in Early, for the first time in a while.  The allocations received from the Texas Comptroller’s Office reflect retail sales taxes collected in December 2022.  Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $748,789 in February, an increase of 4.56% versus February 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2022 through February 2023) the City of Brownwood has received $3,057,269, up 7.15% over the previous fiscal year.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $236,961 in February, an increase of 3.46% over February 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $990,607, up 6.44% over the previous fiscal year/

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $25,691 in February, an increase of 5.23% versus February 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the City of Bangs has received $105,831, up 6.51% over the previous fiscal year.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $3,238 in February, a decrease of 7.98% from February 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $15,678, an increase of 5.72% over the previous fiscal year.

EARLY

The City of Early received $210,591 in February, a decrease of 0.37% versus February 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the City of Early has received $1,155,293, up 21.79% over the previous fiscal year.

The Early Municipal Development District received $68,112 in February, a decrease of 0.80% versus February 2022.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $377,122, up 21.55% over the previous fiscal year.
