Bobby Thompson, 83, passed away on January 22, 2023, in Comanche, TX.

Bobby Thompson was born on May 24, 1939, in Blanket, TX, to Lawrence Thompson and Veda Thompson.

Bobby married Emma Sue Carlisle. The couple had 3 children, Shirley Glenn, of Early, Tommy Thompson, of Blanket and Danny Thompson of Blanket.

Bobby was best known to his family as Papa. Papa enjoyed the outdoors and taught all six grandkids how to swim. He was a mechanic and could fix anything on his own. He loved riding horses and gardening. His therapy was to get out and cut wood.

He was a loving man to his beloved wife Sue for 58 years. After Sue’s death he befriended Barbara Milam and became very good friends. They spent as much time together as possible and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Bobby also served in the Army from 1959 to 1962. He owned the Mobile gas station in Blanket.

Bobby is survived by his daughter Shirley Glenn and husband Kelly, of Early Texas, Sons Tommy Thompson and wife Jennifer, of Blanket Texas. Danny Thompson of Blanket Texas. Brother Gene Thompson of Denton Texas. Sisters Virginia Hull of Blanket Texas. Shirley Shank and husband Woody of Tyler Texas. Grandchildren Amanda Smith, Shay Stanford, Lane Thompson, Tanner Thompson, Cody Smith and Matt Smith.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Veda Thompson and 2 brothers, Thomas Thompson and William Thompson.

The service for Mr. Bobby Thompson will be held on Thursday January 26, at 2:00 pm at Heritage Davis Morris Chapel in Brownwood Texas.

Pallbearers are, Tanner Thompson, Cody Smith, Brandon Smith, Hunter Stanford, Lane Thompson and Kelly Glenn.

Burial: Rock Church Cemetery in Blanket, Texas.
