Billie Marjorie Lollar Cooper, age 97, passed away on Christmas Eve of 2022 in Bangs, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Heartland Funeral Home chapel.

Marjorie was born on March 25, 1925 in Pine Forest Community in Hopkins County, Texas. After high school, she spent most of her life as a nurse. Her career began in a Waxahaxie, Texas hospital. One evening, she was in the emergency room when an elderly man was brought in. His shoes were all broken down and his feet were in need of care. She put his feet in water and told him she would be back shortly. Later, he was telling everyone, “There was an angel in the emergency room.” She will be remembered by most as Dr. Switzer’s nurse at Kimbro Clinic in Cleburne, Texas.

Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hughes of Bangs; brother, Kenneth Lollar of Weatherford; grandson, Clay Hughes of Houston; granddaughters, LeAnn Schell of Fort Worth and Dana Lofton of Waco; seven great grandchildren, Katy Drake, Christopher Giles, Corbin Giles, McKenzie West, Danni Smith, Charity Loftin, and Dakota Loftin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Powell Cooper; two infant sons; and brother, Leo Matthews.
