Marilyn Kay Tharp

Marilyn Kay Tharp, age 68 passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. A Celebration of her Life is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel in Early.

Marilyn was born July 23, 1954 in Brownwood, TX to Floyd and Faye Hall. She attended Brownwood High School. Marilyn worked for Kohler in Brownwood for 14 years, Brownwood Municipal Court as Deputy Court Clerk for 6 years, and Brownwood Sheriff’s Department as a correctional officer for 11 ½ years. Marilyn had two of the finest children any mother would be proud of. She loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Stephenie Peace Stone of Murphy, TX; son, Cory Chase McCorkle and fiancé, Rebecca Smith of White Settlement, TX; 4 grandsons, Jay T. McCorkle, Joshua David McCorkle, Carson Levi McCorkle, Mason Travis Stone; granddaughter, Brielle Renee Stone; sisters, Betty Williams and Shirley Lovelace; brother, Bill Hall; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, William Floyd and Faye Hall; and a sister, Wilda McDorman.
