Husband and wife owners Mike Jackson and Kerri Ralston in front of the business located at 205 Fisk.

The newest downtown Brownwood business – High Vibes Emporium, located at 205 Fisk – opened its doors Wednesday and is in the midst of a grand opening celebration through Saturday.

Hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 4 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

“It’s a place to come in, be yourself and relax, check your stuff at the door, and be who you are in the moment,” said Kerri Ralston, who along with husband Mike Jackson, own the store.

What is High Vibes? Ralston said of the business, “Everything in here is somehow mood lifting or healing. Everything is energy and we need things in life to help us vibrate higher, that’s where the name came from, and then with that is the understanding of being able to heal, to laugh, to do and use products to help you feel better and raise your vibration. That’s the essence of it. We have crystals and they’re on a higher vibration than most humans are. We also have books that are self-help books, journals, gifts, those types of things.”

Jackson added, “This has been a passion for years. We had talked about it, the opportunity presented itself and we said let’s do it. It built and built and the timing was right.”

As for all that High Vibes offers the public, Jackson said, “We have things that are different and fun and something you’re not going to find everywhere in town. That was our goal, to provide something different, fun and high energy. We have sitting areas where people can just come in, sit and relax. We have games people can play while they’re sitting. There’s a variety of things we’re offering.”

High Vibes also provides a number of wellness opportunities.

“I really enjoy the mediation room and we have other health and wellness services like the ion detox foot bath,” Ralston said. “I’m a life coach, I do energy healing, so helping people put the past in the past and helping them move forward is what we are all about.”

Education-based classes will also be available in the near future.

“We will be offering a variety of classes and workshops that all deal with crystals, energy healing and demystifying it,” Ralston said. “We are energy, we’re made of energy, it’s scientific and not way out there like some people think. So the classes are really about education – what we do and why we do it.”

A kitchen is also being refurbished within the building, and High Vibes intends to offer light meals in the not too distant future.

“We’ll be offering snacks and herbal teas and eventually lighter meals and special event meals that are a little heavier in the evening, like soups and salads,” Ralston said, who added when the kitchen opens the hours will expand to serve lunch.

High Vibes is also welcoming vendors, as currently non-invasive body sculpting and artisan pastries are available within the store.

There are also spaces within the store available to rent for gatherings.

“We have two event spaces so if they need to rent a space we also offer that,” Ralston said. “Our hearts’ desire is to help people.”

Regarding the current grand opening, Ralston said, “We’re offering daily specials on different products, we have drawings every half hour through Saturday, and then we’ll have a grand prize drawing.”
