EARLY – The Early Longhorns were dealt a 70-40 loss Tuesday night by No. 6 Peaster in their District 8-3A basketball opener.

The Longhorns (9-10, 0-1) received a team-high 21 points from John Hill, while Kamden Gamblin was the second-highest scorer with five points.

In girls action, the Lady Horns slipped to 0-3 in league play with a 94-22 loss to the Peaster girls, also ranked No. 6 in Class 3A this week by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Both the Longhorns and Lady Horns will be back in district action at Millsap Friday.
