MAY – The May Tigers and Early Lady Horns were among the opening day winners at the May basketball tournament Wednesday.

The Early Lady Horns knocked off Priddy, 37-28, to begin tournament action.

The Lady Horns received eight points from Dakota Barksdale, seven each from Jenna Hataway, Madison Torrez and Averey Horton, four points from Trinity Torrez, and two apiece from Caroline Welker and Jodi Lykes.

Meanwhile, the May Tigers cruised to a 74-25 triumph over Menard.

The Tigers led 23-17 after one quarter, 40-21 at halftime and 57-21 through three periods.

Braden Steele paced May with 29 points trailed by Bryson Guerrero with 13.

May will play Hamlin at 3 p.m. Thursday.

No other tournament information was available Wednesday night.
