Tommy Bryan Shoemake

Thomas Bryan Shoemake, 77, of Blanket, Texas passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022. A visitation with friends will be held at Heartland Funeral Home, Monday, December 5, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in the Cox Cemetery, McCullough County.

Tommy was born August 27, 1945 in Brownwood, Texas to Bronson and Elsie (Deeds) Shoemake. His family moved to Blanket when he was two years old and he graduated high school in Blanket, 1963. Tommy worked at M System grocery store and put himself through college at Howard Payne University where he received a Bachelor degree in Business, 1967. Tommy was well known and liked in the Brownwood, Blanket area. He worked for MF Guage, Brownwood manufacturing, Merchant Freight Line and Brown County Appraisal district. He was a character who made long lasting close friendships. Tommy spent the majority of his time growing peanuts on his granddad’s place with his parents and continued doing so after they passed. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Blanket, Texas He was very close with his parents and his brother, although he never married or had any children. Tommy kept his neighbors and friends close loving them as family and they loved him as well.

Tommy is survived by his neighbors and friends, Joe & Alice Reagan of Brownwood, Mike & Donna Miller of Zephyr and Burl Humphries of Zephyr; and numerous cousins.

Tommy was preceded in death by his brother, Dwain “Deedo” Shoemake; his parents, Bronson & Elsie Shoemake; grandparents, granddad, James “Boss” Shoemake; grandmom, May Shoemake Edward and Kate Deeds.
