From the City of Early Facebook Page:

Just after 5pm Early Police and Fire units along with Lifeguard EMS responded to a major accident in the 1800 block of Early Blvd near CR 292 (Jenkins Springs Road). A small 4 door Toyota struck a construction trailer and pickup on the left rear corner.

The pickup and trailer owned by Housley Group from San Angelo was parked on the west bound shoulder with other equipment. No construction workers were injured.

The driver of the Toyota received minor injuries. The front passenger and 2 children in the car received serious injuries. 1 child was flown by Air Evac to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. One child was transported by ground to Hendricks Hospital in Brownwood and the front passenger was transported by ground to Hendricks hospital in Abilene. A 2nd Air Evac helicopter had arrived for the front passenger but they were unable to transport her by air.

The crash is still under investigation but preliminary investigation suggest the crash resulted from driver inattention.
