Early’s annual Christmas Tree lighting slated for Nov. 29

The City of Early Beautification Committee invites you to join them for a fun and festive evening as they light up Early with the Annual lighting of the Christmas Tree. The festivities will be on Tuesday, November 29th at 6 pm at the intersection of Early Blvd and Garmon Drive.

There will be performances starting at 6 p.m.by Early’s Primary School Choir, Early’s Elementary School Choir, and the Early High School Band.

Shop Small Shop Early Win Cash winners will enter the Cash Cube for their chance to take home some prizes. The Early Municipal Development District encourages everyone to shop local on Small Business Saturday for their chance to win cash.

Untied Supermarkets is once again suppling the hot chocolate and cookies and will be served by their U-Crew volunteers. Santa Clause will be brought in by the Early Volunteer Fire Department and will be passing out candy and posing for pictures.

Parking for the event will be in the First Baptist Church parking Lot, access will be off of Lucas St. from the west and Garmon Dr from the East.

In addition to the tree lighting, the Beautification Committee is sponsoring a Christmas Porch/Entryway Decorating Contest for our residents and businesses. Everyone is encouraged to decorate your porch or entry way for your chance to win. First place will receive $100 and Second place will receive a $50 gift card from Hobby Lobby. There will be a residential and commercial category. Judging will be on Thursday December 15th. Winners will be announced on Friday, December 16th. There is no need to register for the contest.

Guests, Residents and Businesses are encouraged to take pictures this holiday season and post them on social media with the hashtag #lightupearly2022.
