This year’s parade will be held on Thursday, December 1st beginning at 7:00 PM and is sponsored by Texas Rock Crusher Railway. The Lighted Christmas Parade is now full and no longer accepting entries. The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade is Andy Lee. Andy moved to Brownwood in 2002 to open Andy’s Pest Troopers and immediately felt drawn to the people in this community. He believes in putting customers first, treating his employees like family, and give back to the areas Andy’s Pest Troopers services by supporting may local organizations.

The Lighted Parade will kick off a weekend of holiday events in Brownwood including the 14th Annual Christmas Festival presented by United Supermarkets. Meet at Pat Coursey Park for pictures with Santa, Big Wheel Races, and Santa’s Workshop. Breakfast at Santa will begin at 9am and the first 100 kids to arrive receive a free breakfast from Chick-fil-A. Businesses throughout downtown Brownwood will host Christmas crafts and refreshments such as Christmas music on the piano at Saturdays courtesy of Caroline Hammock, Christmas pine cone crafts at Davis Floral, cookie decorating with Zhymara’s Bakery at Luna Maya, and readings of “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” at Intermission Books. The Festival is full of fun for the whole family, including pets. The Pet Christmas Costume Contest will be held at 2pm at Pat Coursey Park. Contestants must register by 1:30pm. Owners are responsible for pets and they must be on a leash at all times. Winners receive Petco gift cards. Thank you to our supporting sponsors Chick-Fil-A, Citizen’s National Bank, Brookshire’s Food Store, and Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. Thank you to our Big Wheel’s Sponsors Trans Texas Tire, Heartland Cruisers, Matt Williams State Farm, Condor Document Services, and Smile Doctors Braces.

The 4th Annual Sipping Under the Stars presented by Visit Brownwood will also be held on Saturday, December 3rd following the Christmas Festival in Downtown Brownwood beginning at 6PM. Sipping Under the Stars will welcome Texas Transit Authority to serenade shoppers as they sip regional wines and stroll through downtown retail stores. Sipping begins a 6PM and shoppers can enjoy exclusive deals and fresh finds for their Christmas shopping list. Tickets are now on sale on Eventbrite.com.

For more information about the parade, festival, or Sipping Under the Stars contact the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce at 325-646-9535. For live updates, please follow the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
