Gerald Ballard

Gerald Ballard, 66, of Brookesmith, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood.

Graveside Service for Gerald will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early, with Bobby Machen officiating. No visitation is scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Gerald was born on January 1, 1956, to Eddie and Gladys (Helge) Ballard in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was a longtime resident of Early and graduated from Early Independent School District in 1974. Gerald worked in the flooring industry for most of his life. He loved fighting roosters, playing washers, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his son, Eric Ballard of San Angelo; daughter, Kristina Villarreal and husband Gilbert of Midlothian; grandchildren, Joey Holguin, C.J. and Drake Villarreal, Kori and Rylee Ballard; brothers, Charles Ballard and wife Suzy Ballard of Brookesmith, Harold Ballard and wife Wyvonne of Brownwood, David Ballard of Austin; and his dog, Toto. Gerald is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Gladys Ballard, and his brother, Bruce Powell.
