Jimmy Don Sliger

Jimmy Don Sliger, age 72 of Brownwood, TX, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 03, 2022, at his home with his wife by his side.

Don was born in Chillicothe,TX to Aaron and Thelma Christine Fox Sliger on June 18, 1950.

Don owned his own roofing company and was a roofer for many years until he became unable to work due to cancer, which he survived.

Don married Glenda (Hunt) Sliger on September 30, 1987 but have been together since October 1978 for a total of 44 years.

Don loved to fish and camp out on the river. Fishing was his favorite hobby. During football season you could always hear him cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, win or lose. Don also loved spending time with family- immediate and extended.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-Adam Sliger and Larry Sliger- One sister Delia (Mickey) Wright. One niece and one great nephew and four brother in laws.

Don is survived by his wife, Glenda Sliger of 44 years, 3 daughters, Monica Hernandez of Brownwood, TX, Crystal Parks (Roland) of Brownwood, TX and Shawna Sliger (Eddy) of Odessa, Tx, seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, a brother, Jack Sliger (Carlene) of Brownwood, TX, two sisters, Ruby Musgove of Pine Bluff, AR, and Kay Durden (Jim) of Early, TX. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews and one very close friend, Tex Smith of Brownwood, Tx.

He is being cremated under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home Davis Morris Chapel of Brownwood.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on November 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at 300 Center Ave. It will be a potluck and the family is asking those that are attending to bring a dish.
