Peggy Louise Dodson passed away at the age of 80 on Monday, October 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

A combined Celebration of Life for Tammie McDaniel and Peggy Dodson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Crenshaw officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Due to the unforeseen complications of pandemic our family felt since we were unable to be together and celebrate Peggy’s daughter, Tammie McDaniel, passing, together we decided on a cremation and funeral be held at a later date. Now that Peggy has passed our family felt this was the opportunity for the family to come together and celebrate the passing of these two amazing women at the same time.

Peggy was born on February 27, 1942, in Clair, Oklahoma to William and Etta Summit. She loved to cook and crochet for the whole family as well as friends. Peggy raised many kids during her time. She was a certified dietician and attended New Beginning Church.

Peggy is survived by her son, Timmy McDaniel of California; daughter, Sandra Burnett and husband Raymond of Brownwood; daughter, Michelle Helm and husband Larry, also of Brownwood. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Brandy, Josh, Esperanza, Jeremiah, Mindy, Shawna, Jeremy, Olivia, Rebecca, Sandy, Toby, Destiny, Joanna and Aaron; and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Howard Dodson; son, David McDaniel, Jr.; daughter, Tammie McDaniel; brother and sister-in-law, Earnie and Claudette Summit; and sister and brother-in-law, Fay and Ray Lane.

Memorials can be made to New Beginnings Church, 1001 Belle Plain, Brownwood, Texas 76801. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
