Lady Dragons secure District 6-2A’s third playoff seed with victory over Ranger

Julianna Ethridge (5) and the Lady Dragons (12-18, 4-4) will face the District 5-2A runner-up – either Miles or Sonora, who are currently tied for second place – in the bi-district round of the playoffs either Monday, Oct. 31 or Tuesday, Nov. 1.

BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons are headed to the volleyball playoffs as the third seed from District 6-2A following Saturday’s 25-17, 25-20, 15-25, 26-24 victory over Ranger in the regular season finale.

The Lady Dragons (12-18, 4-4) will face the District 5-2A runner-up – either Miles or Sonora, who are currently tied for second place – in the bi-district round of the playoffs either Monday, Oct. 31 or Tuesday, Nov. 1.

In the win over Ranger, Jadyn Miller registered 14 kills followed by Ava Boren with seven, Neeley Bradley with six, Raylee Hutchins with three, Laynie Evans with two, and Kasey Solis with one.

Evans distributed 15 assists and Bradley chipped in 10.

At the service line, Bradley recorded five aces followed by four each from Miller and Evans, three from Julianna Ethridge, and two from Boren.

Defensively, Miller’s 21 digs were a team-high trailed by 13 from Hutchins, eight each from Boren and Bradley, six from Ethridge, three from Evans, two from Claire Auldridge and one from Solis.

Auldridge notched three blocks while Solis and Bradley each contributed two.
