Claude Jackson Slone

Claude Jackson Slone, 89, of Rochelle, left this life Wednesday, October 12, 2022, with his family gathered around him at home. Arrangements are with Heartland Funeral and Cremations of Comanche where the family will greet friends 9 a.m. Saturday October 15, 2022. At 10 a.m., Claude’s life will be celebrated with Bill Slaymaker and Barry Fikes officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery of Gustine.

Claude Slone was born July 19, 1933, in Voss, TX to Claude Earnest Slone and Tuppy Lee Priddy. Claude graduated from Sonora High School and later attended Texas Tech. He and Doris Elane Coker were married October 9, 1955 in Via Acuna, Mexico and were married 67 years. Claude was a Civil Engineer working for GSS Laboratories, LLC. He served in the United States Army and was member of the Christian Church. Free time for Claude was spent ranching, fishing, hunting but most of all, spending time with his family.

Claude is survived by his wife, Doris Elane Slone; children, Bobby Slone and wife Kim, Cynthia Kras; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Rose Doyle and Peggy Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melani Burkhart; brother, James Slone; sisters, Fay Poe and Betty McMillian.
