Brownwood volleyball drops league opener at No. 21 Glen Rose

Ava Choate (2) and the Lady Lions (4-16, 0-1) will attempt to bounce back Tuesday at Graham

GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Lady Lions dropped their District 6-4A volleyball opener at No. 21 Glen Rose Friday in straight sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-13.

Aubrie Felux, Hannah Deen and Emma Ringer posted a team-high four kills apiece for Brownwood, followed by Ava Choate and Aniah Hines with two each, and Kassidy Wooten and Miranda Northcutt both with one.

Ringer dished out 11 assists while Deen and Felux contributed one each.

Choate and Deen served Brownwood’s two aces.

Defensively, Wooten registered 16 digs trailed by Felux and Ringer with four each, Deen with three, and Choate, Northcutt, and Hines with one apiece.

Northcutt logged three blocks while Deen and Hines each tallied one.

The Lady Lions (4-16, 0-1) play the second of four straight road games to begin district action at Graham at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
