Raw 1899, San Angelo’s premier art lounge, presents Simpler Times Art Show and Sale, October 6 to 29, 2022, featuring the work of artist Nathana (“Thana”) Ross-Cox.

Opening Champagne Reception will be Thursday, October 6, 4 to 8 p.m., and the public is invited to meet the artist. There is no cost to attend.

The crazy fun of a tire swing. Wind-whipped laundry on a clothesline. A country chapel adorned with stained glass windows as colorful as creation itself. San Angelo artist and Raw 1899 Co-Owner, Ross-Cox captures those images and more in her beautiful tribute to days gone by.

She grew up on the family ranch in Brownwood and much of her inspiration for this show comes from there and from the people and places of that small-town life. (She is the daughter of Nelda and Nathan Ross. Nelda owned the Snooty Fox Beauty Salon at 1616 Fisk Street and Nathan was a rancher.) Also, ideas came from several of her friends who shared with Nathana photos of their simpler times.

Ross-Cox has painted for 13 years and has sold widely in West Texas and throughout the state. Boldness, panache, and confident use of color are hallmarks of her unique style. Her work in this show, with oils and mixed media, demonstrates her ability to tell a story and bring yesteryear to life.

See her body of work at www.ArtbyNathana.com and check out fresh-off-the-easel paintings on her socials.
