Ray Shepard passed away September 12,2022 in Brownwood, Texas.

Ray was born July 15, 1942, to RV and Estelle Shepard. Ray served in the Navy. He was employed in the oilfield for twenty-five years but the job he enjoyed the most was working as a lake keeper. He worked as a lake keeper at Lake Abilene for 16 years prior to retirement in 2006. He also enjoyed restoring antique tractors.

Ray was survived by his wife, Martha Shepard, his sisters-Carlene Sliger and husband Jack, and Betty Mitchell, daughter, Martha Jane Whitt, and husband Phill, son Darrell Shepard, daughter Susan Cardenas and husband Jesse, and daughter Cecelia Maldonado and husband Rudy. He was also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers Bobby and Vernon, sisters Dona and Ola Mae, and his parents RV and Estelle Shepard.

A memorial service will be held at the New Life Assembly of God Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm with Roy McNeeley officiating.
