Glenda Rutherford, age 86, of Lake Brownwood passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, at a local nursing facility.

Graveside Service for Glenda will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Keegan Hall officiating. There is no set visitation, however a register book will be available to sign at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Glenda was born to George and Altha (Cox) Reynolds on March 19, 1936, in Abilene, Texas. She and her husband, Calvin, loved square dancing, traveling in their fifth-wheel camper, and bowling.

She loved her Lord and Savior. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and her church family meant the world to her. The women of the church visited the nursing facility every month to sing for all of the residents, something they still talk about. Glenda was a great cook, a loving mother and grandmother, with the prettiest smile and blue eyes.

Glenda is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Browne and husband Randy of Lake Brownwood; son, Micky Rutherford and wife Cookie also of Lake Brownwood; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Dale Rutherford; her parents, George and Altha Reynolds; three brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Glenda’s memory to Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, 200 CR 616, Brownwood, Texas 76802.
