Brown County Sheriff’s Report – Sept. 7

  • On Thursday, Sept. 1 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Sgt. Andre Smoot responded to an animal complaint. Once on scene, it was discovered two pit bulls were loose and had a cat in their mouths. The cat was recovered and still alive with a hurt leg. The area was searched for the dogs, but not located. An information report was completed.
  • On Saturday, Sept. 3 at 3:29 p.m. Sgt. Jayson Bastardo was dispatched to U.S. 183 S. This was in regard to an assault. Upon arrival, Bastardo spoke with a victim who stated a suspect assaulted him while he was at her residence. Information was gathered and report was taken.
  • On Monday, Sept. 5 at 10:45 a.m., Deputy Ricky Herring was dispatched to F.M. 2125. This was in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, information was gathered, and a report was taken.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Deputy Ricky Herring was dispatched to Feather Bay Blvd. This was in reference to mail being taken from her mailbox on at least three different occasions. Information was gathered, and a report was taken.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Deputy Saydie Bradley took a report of a package being stolen out of a mailbox at the entrance of Feather Bay.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Lt. Pete Bastardo was dispatched to Hwy 67 West. This was in regard to credit/debit card abuse. Contact was made with the victim, who stated someone had used her debit card without permission on several occasions. The victim did not have any suspects to list, and information was gathered for a report.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to CR 136. This was for a deceased person. Deputy Geis did not see any foul play. Deputy Geis gathered information and took a report.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Deputy John Geis was responding to a call of an assault in progress at CR 464. While driving to the location, dispatch advised the alleged suspect left and was driving back into town. Deputy Geis initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and received information from the driver regarding the assault. Other deputies attempted contact with the victim, but the victim did not want to be contacted. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, Sept. 6, Deputy John Geis was dispatched to FM 2525 in regards to a loose ram. Deputy Geis spoke with the homeowner, who said the ram was on his property for approximately 4-5 months but could never get it pinned until today. After speaking with several people in the area, Deputy Geis Estrayed the animal. Information was gathered, and a report was made.
  • On Wednesday, Sept. 7, at around 1:07 a.m., Deputy Carlyle Gover initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Harbor Drive and Lakeshore Drive at Harbor Point. This was for expired registration. The driver was arrested for Brownwood municipal warrants. A vehicle inventory was initiated, and narcotics were located. The driver was taken into custody for the warrants as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 under a gram.
