Fay Knutson

Fay Knutson, age 100, of Mercury passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at a local nursing facility.

Graveside Services for Fay will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bro. Tim Skaggs officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Fay was born on February 15, 1922, to Obed and Frances (Tidwell) Saul in Granbury. She married Edward T. Knutson in 1940 in Rochelle. She worked for Lockheed Martin in Irving while Edward was in the Army but was a homemaker most of her life.

She was an active member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, Mercury Baptist Church, and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the American Legion in Mercury. Fay loved to play games, cards, and bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Fay is survived by her son, Ronny Knutson and wife Marla of Indian Gap; daughter, Glenda England and husband Dee of Brownwood; grandchildren, Wes Knutson and wife Marie, DeeAnna Dodd and husband Cully, Wade Knutson and wife Jennifer, Dale England and wife Brandi; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-children. She is also survived by her sisters, Lorene Jones of Houston and Stella Gee of Irving; 2 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward T. Knutson; parents, Obed and Frances Saul; son, Richard Dale Knutson; two brothers, one sister, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
