The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its 2022-2023 Leadership Brownwood class.

Spanning eight months from September through April, Leadership Brownwood is designed to increase individual and community leadership skills. The beginning retreat, the second Thursday in September, focuses on individual leadership styles and techniques. Starting in October and ending in April, the class then spends one day per month examining specific aspects of the community such as education, government, local business and economic development, health and human services, the criminal justice system, and tourism.

Leadership Brownwood began in the mid-80’s by the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce as a community leadership development program. The program is dedicated to educating, developing, and empowering current and future leaders for the community and motivating them to serve civic, charitable, and business organizations.

The insights participants gain as they explore the inner workings of the community serves as a foundation for their long-term involvement in Brown County in a variety of leadership roles.

Tuition is $495 per person and includes transportation to tour sites, meals for each session, course materials, and class shirts.

Deadline for application is Wednesday, August 24th. Chamber members who are interested in participating in the Leadership Brownwood program should email

director@brownwoodchamber.org. Class size is limited to 30 people.
