Ryan Lee Hopkins (Hop), 18 years of age, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend went to be with our Lord and Savior, Monday, August 8, 2022, at John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas surrounded by his loved ones. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. We were blessed with the time that we had together.

Ryan was the most caring, loving and happy young man you’ve ever met.  His smile was contagious. He was one of those truly rare personalities.  You could describe him as magnetic. He would just draw you into anything he had to say.  Everything he did was 110%, and this was certainly true of sports. Ryan attended Cross Plains High School. He participated in football, basketball, and track. He loved to run fast.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Joseph Hopkins and Katherine Kanady-Hopkins of Cross Plains, Texas; sister, Sarah Kanady, and brother, Kevin Hopkins of Cross Plains, Texas; grandparents, Wesley Kanady of Cross Plains, Texas; Tammie and Danny Tidwell of Sonora, Texas; great grandparents, Barbara Jo Medley of Cross Plains, Texas; Charles A Wagoner of Cottonwood, Texas; Ronnie Bowen of Midland, Texas; Patricia Tidwell of Seymore; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Brenda Kanady, and grandfather Melvin Lee Hopkins Jr., great-grandfather Melvin Lee Hopkins Sr. and great-grandmother Maudine Hopkins, great-grandmother JoAnn Bowen, Margorie Martin, and great-grandfather Billy Tidwell; great-grandfather Albert Kanady and great-grandmother Ruth Wagner

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
