Sherry Sue Lindsey, age 70, of Brownwood formerly of Schulenburg passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Songbird Lodge.
Graveside Services for Sherry will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Pitman Cemetery in Muldoon. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood.
She was born on February 2, 1952, to James Luther Lindsey and Frances (Davenport) Lindsey in San Antonio. Sherry attended A&M Consolidated High School and one year at Texas A&M University in College Station.
Sherry loved to sing and dance, especially to country music. She was known to dance down the hallway and entertain everyone at Songbird Lodge. In the early 1980’s she sang with Johnny Rodriguez. Sherry was fond of cowboys and never met a stranger. She was always ready to “go make friends”. She was known to give you a “hey” or a wink and, if she knew you, a big hug. Sherry had a big heart. She loved horses and dogs and was a barrel racer at one time. She enjoyed being in the country. She was a pretty good fisherwoman, so much that her grandfather nicknamed her “Catfish”. If you wanted a “white glove” clean house, Sherry was the one to make it happen. She adored her son, Taylor.
Sherry moved to Brownwood from Schulenberg in April 2019 to be with her sister, Lorinda. What cherished memories they made.
Sherry is survived by her son, Taylor Cole McShan and fiancé, Shelbie Hatmaker of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; her sisters, Pamela Ann Bonner of McKinney, Deborah Kay Melton of Temple, and Lorinda Lindsey of Brownwood. She is also survived by her “sisters in love”, Cathy Fulkerson Gau of Round Top, Pat Reagan Rollins of Muldoon, and Esther Bien of Dallas. She is also survived by Paul Melton and Miguel Otero of New York City, as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Frances.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Solaris Hospice, Interim Hospice, the Corrine T. Smith Animal Shelter or to a charity of your choice.
The family extends its gratitude to Songbird Lodge, Solaris Hospice, and Interim Hospice.
Sherry went to Heaven to be a guardian angel for her sister, her son, and those she loved.
