
The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Monday morning:
On Sunday, August 7, 2022, at approximately 11:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Duke St. regarding a report of a domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived, they met with an adult female who was visibly shaking and appeared frightened. The female explained that her former boyfriend 39 -year-old Aaron Ray Perez of Brownwood attempted to climb into her bedroom window. She went to the front door and confronted Perez who then grabbed her by the throat and pushed his way into the home.
When inside the residence, Perez released his hold on her throat and grabbed her arm and began yelling and cursing while holding a knife in his other hand. The female victim and her young daughter feared Perez was going to stab her. Eventually Perez exited the residence and punctured three tires of the victim’s vehicle before walking away from the area.
A short time later,Perez was located and detained. Perez was interviewed and ultimately arrested for Aggravated Assault w/a Deadly Weapon, Continuous Violence Against the Family and Criminal Mischief.
