Jacky Reed Cochran, 63, of Dubuque Iowa, formerly of Brownwood, Texas, entered into the gates of Heaven on July 26, 2022.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Jacky at the Depot Civic & Cultural Center in Brownwood, Texas on Sunday, August 21st from 2pm to 6pm.
Jacky was born on October 2, 1958 in Brownwood, Texas to Billy Gene and Wanda (Reed) Cochran. He attended Early ISD schools from Kindergarten to 12th grade. Jacky made a career out of the railroad. He was a train master for Burlington Northern/Santa Fe, Alaska RR, Chicago Central and Pacific, and Canadian National throughout his career. The railroad took him to Alaska where he met his wife of 34 years, Cheri Huseman Cochran. They married on April 30, 1988. Jacky and Cheri were immensely proud of their three children, Karami, Austin, and Andi. Jacky also adored his adopted daughter, Whitney. Jacky was a loving peepaw to his eight grandsons Creighton, Brayden, Lane, Jace, Brody, Jake, Bennett, and Xander.
Jacky was an advocate for health and wellness and devoted the last 10 years of his life to his health journey. He valued his time at True Fitness and spent many hours a day working out there.
Jacky remained attached to his time in Alaska and regarded it as one of the best times of his life. His love for the state was unmatched and he looked forward to visiting again.
Jacky never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved his people unconditionally and protected his family fiercely. He was everyone’s Superman.
