Jesse Guerrero

Jesse Guerrero, age 53, of Coleman, died Friday, July 29, 2022, in Brown County.

The family will host a time of visitation and reflection from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick Schultz, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Jesse Joe Guerrero on May 11, 1969, in Coleman to Ynasio Ortiz Guerrero and Camela (Carmen) Puente Vanpelt. Jesse grew up in Coleman where he attended school. He became a farmer at an early age and worked tirelessly until the day he died. Jesse loved his work and was excellent at it. He felt at home walking the fields and riding on his John Deere Tractor.

Jesse was also a family man. He loved his children and grandchildren immensely. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events. Jesse also enjoyed taking family vacations at the beach. Jesse spent his best days gathering with the family to cookout. He was an avid football fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. During his last few months, Jesse began attending Heartland Church in Brownwood, where he gave his life to Christ. He will be missed.

Jesse is survived by his mother, Carmen Vanpelt of Coleman; his father, Ynasio Guerrero of Coleman; five daughters, Chelsea Guerrero of Odessa, Paige Guerrero and fiancé Mark Williams of Odessa, Jessica Guerrero of Brownwood, Loressa Guerrero-Gant and husband Darrius of Brownwood, and Lana Guerrero of Brownwood; two stepchildren, Ben Watson of Coleman, and Tara Watson of Coleman; eight grandchildren, Jessilyn Nixon, Clifton Nixon, Ayce Williams, Jalen Williams, Jenayah Delgado, Jakoby Delgado, Everleigh Shaw, and Darrius Gant, Jr.; five brothers, Ross Guerrero and wife Diana of Santa Anna, Jr. Guerrero of Coleman, Chris Guerrero and wife Eva of Coleman, Sandy Guerrero of Coleman, and Bobby Dan Guerrero of Coleman; and two sisters, Lucinda Rambo and husband Michael of Coleman, and Priscilla Cowden and husband Scott of Odessa; and special friend, Jorge Delgado of Brownwood.
