Jackie ‘Jack’ Samuel Lowry

Jackie “Jack” Samuel Lowry, age 80, of Brownwood passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at a local nursing home.

Memorial Services for Jack will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, at the Rosser United Methodist Church with Pastor Billy Jones officiating; there will be a reception following the service at the Orman Party House. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Jack was born on March 24, 1942, to Jack and Evelyn (Pratt) Lowry in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Rosser, Texas. He served in the United States Marines Corps. After his time in the service, he worked as a Linotype operator for The Kaufman Herald and The Dallas Morning News. Jack was a lifetime sign painter by trade. He also served as a Kaufman County Constable, then was promoted to a County Deputy, and eventually retired as an Investigator for the Kaufman Police Department.

Jack is survived by his children, George Gunner Lowry, Mindi Lowry, Terri Kyser, and Brandi Poirier; step-children, Bonnie Langian, Gary Corbitt, and Davida McDougal; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lowry Trail; nieces, Tara and Traci Trail; friends, Ole and Bonnie Bergan; his dog, Alvin; as well as many cousins, other relatives and friends who remember him with love.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Carol (Boudreaux) Lowry; and his parents, Jack and Evelyn Lowry.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rosser Volunteer Fire Dept. (P.O. Box 828, Rosser, Texas 75157). Online condolences for the family are welcome www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
