Woodrow “Wayne” Hudson, age 75, of Brownwood passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022 in Abilene. Funeral services for Wayne will be held on Friday, July 15 at 2:00PM in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday, July 14 at Heartland Funeral Home.

Wayne was born on October 2 1946 to Minnie Naomi Trent and Woodrow Wilson “Tex” Hudson in Brownwood. He married Nancy Rogers on January 11, 1965 in Casper, Wyoming. They moved back to Brownwood in 1967. Together, they had 6 children. Wayne was the co-owner at Village Tubs Laundromat, but was also a jack of all trades. He worked as a roofer, carpenter, auto mechanic, and a farmer. His greatest occupation was being a stay-at-home dad and raising his children. Wayne enjoyed woodworking, attending auctions, and collecting a broad range of things. He had a strong love for animals, especially his dogs.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Hudson; children, Leah Graf, Steven Hudson, Christina Hudson Hetzel, Megan Bowersox, and Robert Hetzel; 7 grandchildren, Amber McClellan, Jon Hetzel, Summer Hetzel, Steven Hudson, Ava Graf, Sara Graf, and Adam Graf; 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Ruby, and Luke; and 3 sisters, Lee Betson, Mathilda Wright, and Nadina Reddell. He is also survived by numerous other relatives, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Wayne Hudson; parents, Naomi Trent and Tex Hudson; sister Wanda Fantry; brother, Lloyd Hudson; and daughter in law, Therese Hudson.

Condolences, memories and tributes can be offered to the family online at heartlandfuneralhome.net.
