Sales Tax Collections Up Again Across Brown County

After a slow-down for two months, sales tax allocations are up in all three Brown County cities in the month of July.  The City of Early again leads the pack with an increase of almost 40% over July of 2021.  Sales tax allocations from the Texas Comptroller’s Office in July reflect retail sales taxes collected in May 2022.  Details below:

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $526,421, an increase of 3.09% over July 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2021 through July 2022) Brownwood has received $5,519,641, an increase of 5.40%.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $174,609, an increase of 3.26% over July 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $1,799,626, up 6.41%.

EARLY

The City of Early received $194,213, an increase of 39.38% over July 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,938,823, an increase of 48.05%

The Early Municipal Development District received $64,141, an increase of 39.87% over July 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date the EMDD has received $635,895, up 49.49%.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $17,069, an increase of 10.69% over July 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $187,777, an increase of 10.59%.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,660, an increase of 5.72% over July 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $27,714, up 9.30%.
