Wayne Jones

Wayne Jones, age 83, of Coleman, died Sunday, July 3, 2022, at his residence.

Funeral services are private. Interment will be in the Coleman City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Street, in Coleman. Viewing hours will begin at 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2022, until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home.

Wayne was born December 8, 1938, in Brownfield, Texas to Walter Jones and Nora Estelle Allmon Jones. He moved to Coleman County at the age of twelve and attended school at Talpa Centennial. Wayne married the love of his life, Brenda Sorrells, on December 1, 1957, in Acuna, Mexico. With this union, two sons were born, Albert and Max. He was a rancher and loved tending to his cattle and being outdoors. He was a true cowboy and loved the ranching life. Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed.

Preceding Wayne in death are his parents, Walter and Nora Jones; his wife, Brenda Jones; five brothers; and six sisters.

He is survived by his sons, Albert Jones and wife Cindy of Cisco and Max Jones and wife Brenda of Brownwood; two granddaughters, Amy Farmer and husband Trent of Baird and Amanda Cunningham and husband Brian of Brock; and four great-grandchildren, Jagger Farmer, Talan Farmer, Colt Cunningham, and McKendree Cunningham.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Wayne to a charity of the donor’s choice.
