Rachel Oehler Hall, age 63, of Bangs passed from this life Friday, July 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at home.

A Celebration of Life for Rachel will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Bangs Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Rachel was born into a German family on June 9, 1959, the daughter of Theodore John Oehler and Vernell (Treibs) Oehler. She graduated from Fredericksburg High School while residing with her family on a five-generation ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas. She later attended Angelo State University and then graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education. She was never ashamed to throw up a “Hook ‘em Horns”, especially to benefit her Aggie family and friends. She was later married and had three children. Rachel lived in several Texas counties, Missouri, and Ohio.

Rachel was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and beloved friend. While serving in many roles, she was a Christian first in fulfilling them. She was a member of the Bangs Church of Christ and was eager to teach a Bible class, serve those in need, cook a dish, or greet brethren and visitors with a smile. Her cheery demeanor reflected her positive outlook on life and frequently uplifted those around her.

Her professional career included time as a County Extension Agent in Ozona, Texas and Management, Merchandising, and Marketing positions for Cloth World, Jo-Ann Fabrics, and Waterworks. For the past nineteen years, she worked for Bangs ISD as a Family and Consumer Science educator and specialized in culinary arts, nutrition, hospitality, and other subjects. She also served as a FCCLA sponsor and 4-H leader. As a FCCLA Sponsor, she was active in traveling with students across the state and country as they advanced in their various projects. She was known throughout Brown County and beyond for her service to hundreds of students.

At home, Rachel’s hobbies included sewing, walking, gardening, and cooking. She typically enjoyed a daily walk or two, tended to her flower and vegetable gardens, and was known for her fantastic cakes.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Richard Louis Hall of Bangs; two sons, Daniel Hall of Fredericksburg and Timothy Hall of Bangs; one daughter, Kayleah Hall of College Station; mother, Vernell Treibs Oehler of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Andrew Oehler and his wife, Jeni, of Houston and Samuel Oehler and his wife, Melissa, of Dripping Springs. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.

Rachel in preceded in death by her father, Theodore “TJ” John Oehler.

Memorial donations may be made to Bangs Church of Christ, Bangs Church of Christ youth camps, or Bangs High School FCCLA student fund.

Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
