Fireworks Show, Other Events Saturday in Novice

A BBQ cookoff, parade, car show, kid’s games and yes, fireworks, will be held at Novice, Texas this weekend.

Novice is located just off Highway 84 in Northwest Coleman County and has been home to one of the largest fireworks shows in the area for many years.  The fireworks show will be at dusk on Saturday, July 2nd.

FRIDAY EVENTS:  July 1
6:00 pm – Live music
7:00 pm – Cooks meeting
9:00 pm – Kids Que Turn-in

SATURDAY EVENTS:  July 2
9:00 am – Vendor Showcase, Citywide garage/book sale
9:30 am – Parade lineup
10:00 am – Parade
10:30 am – Car Show, pool/pong rooms open
11:00 am – Apps/Margs judging
12:00 pm – Gala, Beans judging
1:00 pm – Chicken judging
2:00 pm – Ribs judging, garage sale closing
3:00 pm – Brisket judging
4:00 pm – Kids games
5:00 pm – BBQ Awards
6:00 pm – Live music
7:00 pm – Fire hose spray-down, Margarita tent open
9:00 pm – Pass the Boot, sponsor recognition
9:30 pm – National Anthem, Cannon Shot, Fireworks

According to organizers, times may be subject to change. Be aware of road closures to promote safety during the event. All personal fireworks are prohibited in the city of Novice and those in violation may be subject to a fine.
