Early Has Large Increase of Sales Taxes in June

After a one-month pause in a long string of large increases in sales tax collections, the City of Early got back on track in June with another large increase.  The City of Brownwood essentially ran even with June 2021, while the City of Bangs had a decrease.  The sales tax allocations received from the State Comptroller’s Office in June reflect retail sales in April 2022.  Details below.

CITY OF BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $547,022 in June, essentially even with the June 2021 allocation of $547,374.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2021 through June 2022) Brownwood has received $4,993,220, an increase of 5.65% over the previous year.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $180,924, again essentially even with the June 2021 allocation of $180,685.  Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $1,625,017, up 6.76% over the previous year.

CITY OF EARLY

The City of Early received $225,966 in June, an increase of 71.44% over June 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,744,610, an increase of 49.09% over the previous year.

The Early Municipal Development District received $75,092 this month, up 73.39% over June 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date the EMDD has received $571,754, up 50.65% over the previous year.

CITY OF BANGS

The City of Bangs received $15,965 in June, down 24.86% versus June 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $170,708, an increase of 10.59% over the previous year.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,504 in June, down 24.49% versus June 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $25,054, up 9.70% over the previous year.
