Barbara (Followwell) Horton

Barbara Ann (Followwell) Horton, 65, of Brownwood, Texas passed away May 7, 2022. Visitation will be held at heartland Funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022 and the funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 14, 2022 with interment in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Barbara was born November 28, 1956 in Brownwood, Texas to L.B. & Patsy Followwell. Barbara attended Early High School and married Kenneth Horton on February 9th, 1973 and they began a life that blessed them with 5 children. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker all her life and she took pride in the job the good Lord blessed her with. Her family was her heart. She loved them dearly and was proud of all of them. She also loved the Lord and put him first. Barbara had the biggest heart and would help and give to anyone the last dollar she had, if they needed it. She loved animals, especially her chickens. She also loved nature and being outdoors. Barbara even took courses in herbal medicine. She could identify any plant or flower. She had a heart and passion for helping others. She made everyone feel like they were family and like they had known her forever.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Kenneth Horton of Brownwood; daughters, Delilah Horton and fiancé Jeff Martin of Brownwood, Elizabeth Horton of Brownwood; sons, Jody Horton and wife Sarah of Brownwood, Toby Horton and wife Melissa of May, Will Horton and wife Erica of Woodbridge, Virginia; aunt, Mozelle Walton of Brownwood; uncle OD Followwell of Brownwood; grandchildren, Shelcy Baker and husband Scottie, Jasolynn Williams and husband Allen, Charity Williamson and husband Matthew, Baylen Horton ad wife Jesslyn, Cameron Horton and wife Gabby, Mariam Bamba, Kyle Ringler, Sydney Horton and fiancé Chace McCasland, Grace Ringler, Candelario Mata, Gabriella Mata and Kiera Horton; great grandchildren, Blake Tomme, Aubrey Reeves, Aaliyah Reeves, Payton Williams, Hannah Horton, Rose Williamson, Axel Horton and James Williamson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, L.B. & Patsy Jean Followwell.
