Doris Jones was born Doris Nolen in Heflin, Louisiana on April 10, 1939. She currently resides in Brownwood, Brown County, Texas where has she has lived for over 40 years. Ms. Jones is also the author of the novel entitled The Night of My Most Terrifying Death, published and released in 2014. Ms. Jones graduated from Central High School in Dubberly, Louisiana in 1957. In that same year, she met and married Marvin Jones. The two had a large family of 16 children. They raised their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord and were traveling evangelists together for decades. The children were raised in church and taught to be worshippers of God. Still today, some are evangelists, some exercise in the prophetic, some teach, and several still sing to the glory of God. Currently, Ms. Jones has 13 living children, nine girls and 4 boys. On April 10, 2022, all 13 of her living children, their families and extended families, representing five generations, are expected to convene on Brownwood in celebration of this great woman’s life and legacy! Five generations, ages infancy to 65 years of age, from all around the United States, will come to Brownwood to celebrate God’s gift in Doris Jones.
