Andy Ross Rowlett of Brownwood, TX was born on June 2, 1939 in Brown County, Texas and passed away at the age of 82 on April 23, 2022. He graduated from Mullin High School in 1957 and Howard Payne College in 1960 and then received his masters, He had his first job at Coleman teaching math and in Kerville at Tivy High School. Ross also taught at Cross Plains and then at Brownwood where he retired.
He married Mary Kathryn Locke of Mullin on May 8, 1960. They were married 61 years.
He is preceded in death by his father Andy Revis Rowlett and his mother Zora Wilson Rowlett.
He is survived by his wife Mary Kathryn Rowlett of Brownwood, son Casey Rowlett of Brownwood, daughter Melanie Wilson of Lockhart, son Si Rowlett of Regency, daughter Amy Hall and husband Mike of Brownwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Cole Wilson, Zachary Hall, Cameron Hall, Brady Hall and wife Malorie and son Bexton. He is survived by his sister Sue Scott and husband Frank of San Antonio, niece Laura Hunter and husband Tyler and their children Jessica and Scott, niece Pam Young and husband Robert and children Natalie and Cliff, sister-in-law Carol Bullion and husband David and nephew Ken Phillips.
Ross was a faithful member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Redeemed Sunday School Class.
Ross liked playing golf with friends but most of all he loved spending time with grandkids and traveling, having just returned from a trip with family. He also loved ranching and hunting at Regency where he grew up.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas. Graveside service will be Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM Regency Cemetery, 645 County Road 432, Mullin, Texas (Regency Community).
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The family will be having a visitation at the family ranch house following the graveside ceremony.
