Brown County Sheriff’s Report: April 5

  • On Friday, April 1, Lt. Pete Bastardo spoke with an individual. This was in regard to theft. The individual advised he paid a suspect $6,800 for a remolding job and has yet to see any work from him. A report was taken from Berkener.
  • On Friday, April 1 at about 11:47 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley, spoke, by phone, with a victim who stated her soon to be ex-brother-in-law showed up at her residence in his vehicle and revved his motor to harass her.
  • On Friday, April 1 at approximately 1:01 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Cashell Dr. in Brownwood. This was in reference to a criminal trespassing report and investigation.
  • On Friday, April 1 at approximately 2:59 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Donegal Dr. This was in reference to a criminal trespass report and investigation.
  • On Friday, April 1 at approximately 4:34 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Hwy 183 South in Brownwood. This was in reference to a civil matter/theft report and investigation.
  • On Friday, April 1 Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of Animal Cruelty. The caller advised dogs, belonging to a neighbor, had killed several of his goats. A report was made.
  • On Friday, April 1, Deputy Chris Angel, was dispatched to North State Highway 279. This was in reference to a stolen vehicle out of Coleman County. The vehicle was located, and a male subject, who exited the passenger side of the vehicle, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • On Friday, April 1, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to a report of Illegal Dumping. A report was made.
  • On Saturday, April 2 at about 9:20 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at El Paso St. in Brownwood. This was in regard to criminal mischief. Langley spoke to a victim who stated his neighbor had shot a BB gun at his residence and broke his back window.
  • On Saturday, April 2 at about 10:42 a.m. Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Hendrick Urgent Care located at E. Commerce St in Brownwood. This was in regard to an animal bite. Langley spoke to a witness who stated his wife had been bitten by their cat.
  • On Saturday, April 2, at approximately 11:21 a.m., Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to Chaparral Dr. This was in reference to a criminal trespassing report and investigation.
  • On Saturday, April 2, at about 12:39 p.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at Luker Circle in Brownwood. This was in regard to a burglary. Langley spoke to a victim, who stated a suspect had broken into his storage building and took tools.
  • On Saturday, April 2, Deputy Chris Angel was dispatched to Shawnee Drive. This was in reference to a Burglary. A report was taken, and an investigation is underway.
  • On Sunday, April 3 at about 7:50 a.m., Deputy Byron Langley arrived at the intersection of CR 180 and Buckhorn Rd, of the Buckhorn Estates, located in Brownwood. This was in regards to suspicious activity. Dispatch advised a complainant called and advised the cluster mailbox, located at this location, had been opened and mail scattered on the roadway.
  • On Sunday, April 3 at approximately 1:25 p.m. Deputy Scotty Burke spoke with the complainant, by phone. This was in reference to the theft of a firearm report and investigation.
  • On Sunday, April 3 at about 1:52 p.m. Deputy Byron Langley, arrived at CR 603 in Brownwood. This was in regard to illegal dumping. Langley spoke to a victim who stated her sister, her boyfriend, and another suspect left trash and debris on her property.
  • On Sunday, April 3, Deputy Chris Angel, was dispatched to the County Road 436. This was in reference to items being found. The items were collected, and a report was made.
  • On Monday, April 4, Deputy Toby Mathis, spoke with an individual in regard to a hit and run. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Monday, April 4, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to a terroristic threat at CR 550. Information was gathered and a report was made.
  • On Monday, April 4 at approximately 3:58 p.m., Deputy Nicolas A. Wood was notified of a lost or stolen trailer license plate. An investigation was conducted, and a report was made.
  • On Monday, April 4, Sgt. Andre Smoot conducted a traffic stop on a driver, who needed a criminal trespass warning issued to them. The suspect signed the trespass warning and gave permission for a search of the vehicle. Marijuana was located in a backpack and the suspect was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.
  • On Monday, April 4, at around 7:12 p.m., Deputy Carlyle Gover and Sgt. Andre Smoot arrived at Lewis St. This was in reference to a passerby observing a fight occurring on the property, and the suspect fleeing. After further investigation, a report was made for Class C Assault and Theft of Property.
