EARLY – The Early Longhorns chalked up another District 8-3A baseball victory and kept the Bangs Dragons winless in league play Friday night with a 10-0 triumph.

The Longhorns (5-1 in district) scored twice in the first inning, once in the second, six times in the third and once more in the fourth.

On the mound, Caleb Laird hurled a one-hit shutout for Early with eight strikeouts and two walks in five innings.

Weston Jundt recorded the only hit for Bangs (0-6 in district).

Early’s eight-hit onslaught featured two each by Jeremy Brown, Bradly Roman and Tucker Hale, and one apiece from Rylie Hill and John-Stewart Gordon. Roman drove in two runs for the Longhorns while Brown, Laird and Gordon added an RBI each as well.

The Bangs defense committed six errors which led to four unearned runs allowed by pitchers Skylar Minshew and Hunter Bernal, who combined to strike out three and walk three.

Early visits Comanche Tuesday while Bangs hosts Dublin.
