As of 5:30 a.m. Monday, the Ramsey Fire near May has slowed considerably and has been contained on the west side by Highway 183, the east side by CR 477, the north side by CR 478 and the southside by FM 1467. The fire HAS NOT crossed 183. High humidity and drizzling rain have played a role in aiding firefighters in slowing the progress of the fire.

As of 5:55 a.m., May residents who evacuated can return to their homes as the progress of the fire has been stopped. May ISD will remain out of school today.

As of 6:30 a.m., the Ramsey Fire near May has burned 1,500 acres and is considered 5% contained
