Eastland Complex fire 15% contained, 45,383 acres burned as of Friday night

Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) firefighters responded to 7 new requests for assistance on wildfires across the state. Fire resources also continued suppression efforts on 5 carryover wildfires.

Active Fires:

– Eastland Complex, Eastland County – est. 45,383 acres, 15% contained as a total complex. The complex consists of 4 wildfires: Kidd Fire, Eastland County (est. 34,000, 15% contained); Oak Mott Fire, Brown County (est. 6,000 acres, 50% contained); Wheat Field Fire, Eastland County (est. 5,000 acres, 25% contained); Walling Fire, Eastland County (383 acres, 100% contained).

– Crews Gap Fire, Runnels County – est. 7,500 acres, 80% contained

– Realitos Fire, Duval County – est. 1,200 acres, 0% contained

Contained Fires (100%):

– Chico Lane Fire, Reagan County – 8,000 acres

– Edmunson Fire, Sterling County – 3,861 acres

– La Paloma Fire, Starr County – 1,036 acres

– Pia Fire, Archer County – 16 acres

– Van Zandt 1522 Fire, Van Zandt County – 17 acres

– Sands Fire, Jim Wells County – 3 acres

– Owens Fire, Jack County – 166 acres

– Morris 1628 Fire, Morris County – 1 acre
