As the Brownwood Lions and Lady Lions soccer teams are preparing for their postseason runs, the University Interscholastic League earlier this week released its soccer realignments for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

In Class 4A, the Lions and Lady Lions will remain in Region I, but are moving out of a four-team District 4 into a seven-team District 5. In recent years, with four teams advancing to the playoffs, every school in several 4A districts advanced to the postseason regardless of performance.

For the next two years, the top four teams out of Brownwood, China Spring, Gatesville, Lampasas, Little River Academy, Salado, and Stephenville will qualify for the playoffs.
