Johnny Williams

Johnny Williams, age 69, of Coleman, died Thursday, March 10, 2022, at his residence with his family by his side.

The family will host a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Wilson, minister of Sudan Church of Christ, officiating and Guy Lowe assisting. Interment will follow in the Shields Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Johnny Lee Williams on May 27, 1952, in Coleman to Grady Williams and Pauline Marie Lowe Williams. Johnny grew up in the community of Shields and graduated from Santa Anna High School. He married Venetta LaNell Lewis on March 25, 1993. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2005. Johnny then married Carol Morgan on December 3, 2005, in Coleman. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation and retired after 30 years of dedicated service.

Johnny was a kind and Christian man. He was a devout member of Hillcrest Church of Christ where he served as a trustee and song leader. Johnny enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. His loving spirit and contagious smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Johnny is also preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Pauline Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Williams of Coleman; six children, Misty Needham and husband Johnny of Baird, Jason Williams of El Paso, Rowdy Morgan and wife Stacy of Thackerville, Oklahoma, Jimmy Williams of Coleman, Joy Williams of Amarillo, and Cole Morgan and wife Jessica of Callisburg; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with two on the way; one sister, Donna Faries and husband J.C. of Coleman; and niece, Robin Strange and husband Richard of Denton.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Johnny to Hillcrest Church of Christ, P.O. Box 295, Coleman, Texas 76834.
