Professional Women’s Summit slated for March 24

The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 4th Annual Professional Women’s Summit presented by Brownwood Municipal Development District on March 24, 2022.

Meet at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre located at 318 Center Ave. Doors open at 8:00 am for a Chick-Fil-A breakfast, networking, and professional headshots provided by Samantha Rodriguez Photography. Program begins at 9 am at the Brownwood Lyric Theatre. Breakout sessions will take place at the Robert & Florence Moore Performing Arts Studio, 10 Mile Productions Tasting Room, Intermission Bookshop, Pioneer Tap House, and the Art Center. Topics include time
management, networking, intentional relationships, the business of art, and enhancing communication skills. Lunch will be served at Teddy’s Brewhaus.

Keynote address will be delivered by Shana Merlin. Fresh off her recent TEDx talk, Shana Merlin is touring her fun and interactive presentations nationwide using the tools and techniques from improvisational comedy to teach team building, communication, sales, persuasion, leadership, and creativity. Some of her clients have included Dell, T-Mobile, Silicon Labs, Methodist Medical Center and Deloitte. Shana is an associate at the Center for Health Communication at the University of Texas, a Professor of Improvisation at St. Edward’s University, and is the Founder of the Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation.

To cap of the day, there will be the presentation of the Bettie Girling Distinguished Women Award sponsored by Texas-Clean.

The first 150 attendees will receive a swag bag. Additionally, attendees can win one of over 40 door prizes. Don’t miss this day of encouragement. Tickets are only $25 for Brownwood Chamber members and $35 for non-members presale. Tickets are $50 at the door. This price includes breakfast, lunch, swag bag, and a chance to learn from inspirational speakers. Golf
carts will be provided by Bruner Auto Group for those who need assistance.
