16 positive COVID results, three deaths last week

Brownwood-Brown County Health Department Weekly Update:

In the last seven days, the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department received 16 positive COVID-19 test results. Of the 16 positives this week, 10 were PCR, and 6 were antigen. Of the total number of cases reported this week, 0 cases met the breakthrough definition. This includes asymptomatic, mild symptoms, and severe symptom breakthrough cases.  There are 0 people currently hospitalized in Brown County for COVID-19.

Three new deaths have been reported this week: One female in her 60s, one female in her 70s from a nursing facility, and one male in his 80s from a nursing facility

The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering COVID testing at their clinic located at 510 E. Lee Street. Testing is by appointment only. If you need to be tested for COVID, please do not walk into the clinic. Testing will be conducted at your vehicle in the parking lot. COVID-19 Vaccinations for Brown County:

  • People with at least one dose – 17,621
  • People fully vaccinated –  15,730
  • Boosters administered – 5,394
  • Percentage of people 5+ fully vaccinated – 43.56%

The Brownwood-Brown County Health Department is offering free COVID-19 vaccinations to all youth ages 5 years or older and adults age 18 years old or older. Vaccination boosters are also available. Vaccinations are available by appointment at the Health Department. Please call 325-646-0554 to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
