Lake Brownwood State Park is hosting its Happy Trails: Hiking Basics one-hour hikes at 10 a.m. March 5, 12, and 19 at Texas Oak Trailhead.

The park posted the following on its Facebook page:

“Interested in getting in to hiking but not sure where to start? Join us for an introduction into hiking! We’ll learn about how to plan a hike, what gear to bring, and trail safety and then take a guided hike together! This program is family friendly and a great way to get your little one outside and exploring!”

Bring sturdy walking shoes, water, and a sense of curiosity
