The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of March 2:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
Fishing is good. Water lightly stained; 47 degrees; 2.05 feet low.
Largemouth bass are good with perch-like crankbaits, brown or green Texas-rigged plastic worms, chartreuse bladed spinners, and shaky head jigs near timber, rocky shorelines, and docks.
Crappie are good on minnows and jigs in brush piles and near bridge pilings.
White bass and hybrids are good on slabs, swimbaits, and live bait along the main lake channels, humps, and ridges.
Catfish are good on shrimp, chicken liver, and live bait.
LAKE CISCO
Fishing is good. Water clear; 42 degrees; 3.57 feet low.
Crappie are good with catches up to two pounds using Sharp’s hand tied jigs.
Largemouth bass are slow using large shiner minnows.
Channel catfish are fair and improving on worms.
LAKE COLEMAN
Fishing is fair. Water slightly stained; 44 degrees; 1.80 feet low. Few anglers on the lake but fishing should pick up as the spring weather sets in.
Largemouth bass are good in deeper water using umbrella rigs.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
Fishing is GREAT. Water clear; 43 degrees; 16.61 feet low.
Bass are good with reports of lunkers biting Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, and swimbaits.
Crappie are fair on jogs and minnows.
LAKE PROCTOR
Fishing is slow. Water clear; 46 degrees; 1.69 feet low.
Blue catfish are fair in shallow water on cut shad.
Hybrid bass are slow on cut bait drifting 10-15 feet of water.
Crappie are slow on brush piles using minnows and jigs.
