COLEMAN COUNTY – The O.H. Ivie Reservoir has likely produced a new lake record largemouth bass.  Brodey Davis of Oklahoma brought in a 17.06 pound bass Thursday morning.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Toyota Sharelunker Program shared this on their Facebook page:

“Historic day! Angler Brodey Davis just weighed one of the largest Texas ShareLunkers to hit the scales in the past 30 years!! His 17.06 pound Legacy Class bass is the pending new lake record for Lake O.H. Ivie and one of the top 10 Texas largemouth bass of all time. Wow!  Congratulations Brodey and thank you for your support of the future of Texas fisheries!”

The Texas Parks and Wildlife -Inland Fisheries San Antonio District echoed the excitement- ” Congratulations to Brodey Davis on catching one of the top 10 largest bass all-time in Texas! He caught this 17.06 pound Legacy Class Sharelunker Bass out of O.H. Ivie. Appreciate Brodey’s support of making Texas bass fishing better by contributing his catch to the Toyota ShareLunker Program – Texas Parks and Wildlife.

O.H. Ivie is producing large bass at an unbelievable rate. Shout out to the Inland Fisheries San Angelo District – Texas Parks and Wildlife for all the work they do! “

The temperature was in the 20’s with wind chills in the teens Thursday at Lake Ivie when the fish was caught.   The record is still pending review and has not been declared official yet by the TP&W.

Remarkably, the next day two more ShareLunker fish were caught:

Zachary Reece landed a 14.15 pound Legacy Class ShareLunker from O.H. Ivie.
